It is October again, and the leaves are falling! What is even more exciting is that the Howl-O-Ween Pawty is fast approaching! This year we will have the same great categories of events, with a new theme of ‘Doggie Comic Con’. This means it is suggested costumes be focused on comic books and related forms of pop culture entertainment, including movies, TV shows, etc. The word ‘Comic Con’ refers to ‘Comic Book Convention’, which has become a very big thing in popular culture with attendees dressing up as characters from a multitude of comic books, movies, TV shows, etc.
However, you can dress up yourself and your dog in any way you choose. We will be awarding prizes in the categories listed in the image below:
There will be 1st, 2nd & 3rd place prizes for winners in each category, as well as a Best Overall from the judges, a People’s Choice from attendees and a Woofer’s Choice award this year.
This year there will be another great K-9 demonstration, as well as some exciting announcements about a project that will make dog owners excited in the community! At the event we will also have Redbow Photography doing pet portraits, the Home Run Dog Park merchandise available, and a whole host of other booths offering products and services for your dogs!
The contest this year will feature four special judges selected from our community! You will want to be in attendance at this fun event! Entering the contest is free, but it is a fundraiser, so there will be opportunity to donate to the Home Run Dog Park and the K-9 program if you choose.
