BATTLE JACKS DOG COACH TRYOUTS

Does your dog have what it takes to be a baseball coach?  Not sure?

Bring them to the tryouts!

Challenges to work with your dogs on before the event:

Arguing with the Umpire

Challenge: Can you get your dog to leave the dugout, run up to an umpire and run around him or bark at him, and then return to the dug out?  Work with your dogs on treat training to run up to another person and return to you.

Talking to the First Base Coach

Challenge: Can you get your dog to run from the dugout, go to the first base coach, and sit down in front of him and give him/her their paw?  Then run back to the dugout?  Work with your dogs on treat training to run up to another person and return to you.

The Pitching Change

Challenge: Get your dog to run out to the pitchers mound and bring the pitcher a ball, or take one from him during a pitching change.  So your dog would need to run from the dugout to another person, and bring or take a ball from them, and return to the dugout.

Bat Boy Duty

Challenge:  Can you get your dog to leave the dugout, go out and pick up a bat that has been dropped on the sidelines and return it to the dugout?  Work with your dog on retrieving a baseball bat.

All dogs who can qualify for one or more skills will be winners!  To participate we ask that if you are selected as a winner to commit to attending at least five Battle Jacks home games.  The team will provide a ticket for you and your dog, as well as have some special prizes at the event for you.

This tryout will be to have dogs participate in the fan experience at home games, and the announcers over the public address system will be offering a narration of what your dog is doing on the field as a Battle Jack coach when he performs.

Your dog may be given a jersey to wear for the night, and the whole activity is strictly for entertainment.  Your dog will have a good time, and you will get to experience a home game up close and personal!

If you are interested, start working with your dogs now!  We will see you on April 30th at the Home Run Dog Park from 1-3PM!  More information will be made available at the event. Visit our calendar for more details!
