The Home Run Dog Park celebrated the 1st Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, August 22nd, 2020. The weather was warm and sunny, and the dogs and their owners had a wonderful time!
The day was filled with dog events from obedience, to agility course challenges to the whimsical ‘silliest dog’ competition. Ribbons were given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in all categories. Here are some of the results:
The next group of winners was the little dog categories.
Dogs throughout the day had fun with all the events, and there were wonderful sponsor tents set up by Honor Credit Union, Pet Supplies Plus, Redbow Photography, Eurofins Microbiology Labratory and Pennfield Animal Hospital in addition to the Home Run Dog Park merchandise at the pavilion.
A very special thank you goes out to the City of Battle Creek’s Park and Recreation Department for working with us to prepare for this event. Also a special thank you to the Kalamazoo Poo Crew who works so hard to keep the park clean, removing the dog waste and re-supplying the bags.
Another special shout out should go to Tim Collins and WBCK Radio for covering the event on their blog, and also the Battle Creek Shopper for stopping by the cover the story for their upcoming issue.
We hope to be able to expand on the festivities next year, and make it an annual event for dogs and dog owners in the Battle Creek community!
A final big woof and thank you to all the dog owner who came out today to participate!
