On August 21st, 2021 we held our second annual Festival of the Dogs event at the Home Run Dog Park. We held field day competitions in categories from obedience, ball chase & return, agility bars, etc.! It was a great turnout! Watch the video of the event here:
The event was an annual fundraiser for the Home Run Dog Park, and the funds raised go to support ongoing maintainance at the park year round. The funds supply dog waste bags for the waste stations, cover a service to remove the dog waste, maintain the plumbing, gates and pavilion, as well as make upgrades to the park.
In 2021, some of the upgrades have been to repair sections of grass in the Spring, add sand around the pavilion area to improve drainage, repair the water spickets, and add two new waste stations on the East end of the park.

At the Festival of the Dogs, we also had Redbow photography offering pet portraits, vendors selling pet products, pet adoptions and even the Calhoun County Treasurer helping people get a dog a license!
